Content Admin Kit
Added a set of new content administration tools to the Pro-Revit Tools. The idea behind the new Content Admin Kit is being able to finally take parameter values from one object category and place into a new/existing parameter in a different object category. A lot of us have been wanting to schedule certain parameters from different object categories in a schedule but couldn’t because of this limitation. The barrier has been broken down with our new Content Admin Kit but we have included a few extra tools that you will also find handy.
Shared Parameter Manager – Displays a dialog, where users can review, add and delete shared parameters to their shared parameter file.
Parameter Manager – Tool to manage parameters in project and family file.
•In project file you can import one or more shared parameters and apply it to multiple categories.
•In family file you can manage parameter properties for many parameters (e.g. change the parameter from instance to type, delete parameters, …) or import one or more shared parameters from parameter file.
•The tool allows you to export parameter definitions to *.json file which you can import to different family file (the tool creates all the parameters from *.json file).
Manage Calculated Parameters – See in Action – Tool where you can define rules to update parameters. E.g. you can define a rule, that runs on all the doors, finds out what Fire Rating parameter of it’s host is, then set the value back to door instance. Update Calculated Parameters – Tool which runs all the chosen rules against the model.
Update Category – Tool to set category for all families (RFA files) in chosen folder.
BIM Content – Place some of your favorite Revit Families quickly into a project.
Manage Families – Build a folder and sub-folders of where you would find some of your favorite Revit families. Works with the BIM Content tool.
The BIM Manager tools enable a user to manage their content. The tool set includes best seller, BIM Query, which is an advanced spreadsheet parameter editor for Revit instances and types. It also includes functionality like Importing or Exporting families, managing materials, sheets and views.
BIM Query – See in Action – This tool enables the user to quickly edit Type and Instance properties for selected Categories. The user can edit properties with a built-in spreadsheet editor or save and open in MS Excel. Once the Excel file is updated, you can load it back and apply the changes to Revit model. The built-in spreadsheet editor includes MS Excel functionality for sorting or filtering parameters. Save your filters of the data to use again in other projects. You can also import/export the filters to share with staff. Productivity tools available in the editor include:

•drag cell values where the tool auto increments values
•select Material with drop-down control
•use units for length input (e.g. 1m, 1′ 2 1/256″)

Folder Tool – See in Action – Opens project location in Windows Explorer.
Multi Type Editor – See in Action – Multi Type Editor displays a tree of elements in a project, which can be edited, changed and arranged at the same time.
Export – See in Action – With Export the user can export families into a personal library on their computer. The user can choose one, multiple or all families and export them from the current project.
Import – See in Action – Imports selected families from multiple folders. Along with a search tool to help find a certain family.
Project Cleanup – See in Action – Select Materials, Rooms, Areas, Spaces, Views, Line Styles, Line Patterns, Fill Patterns, Dimension Overrides, and Text Types to delete in the project. Settings can be stored in the database for later use (on other project).
This tool set can analyze selected geometry and store calculated values in shared parameter. Tools include dimensions, door swing analysis and room lighting calculations.
Update – Updates shared parameter values for all instances that were updated with one of the Analyze tools.
Insertion Location – Creates shared parameter with insertion point (bottom and top) for the selected element.
Thickness – Creates shared parameter with element thickness and elevation for selected element.
Room Lighting – Calculates ratio between room area and sum of window areas for the room.
Annotation tools include text alignment and automated legend creation. Users can generate a graphical legend of various elements in just a few steps with Legend by Category tool.
Import Spreadsheet – See in Action – Imports spreadsheet (XLS, XLSX) as Revit schedule. If spread sheet has more than one tab you select which one to import. You can also use the update feature to update an existing imported spread sheet.
Legend by Category – See in Action – Creates table with preview for elements in project with selected category. Has to be run in LEGEND VIEW with at least one LEGEND COMPONENT in it. Legend by Category will generate graphical schedules for various elements in just a few steps. Users can create a legend for windows, doors, furniture, walls, roofs, elements of installation, etc. The user has control of the appearance of the table including which parameters to be included and the order they are listed in the table. The ability to quickly create custom legends is very useful for organizing information and coordinating with manufacturers.
Material Legend – Creates material legend for selected view. Has to be run in empty DRAFTING VIEW. Individual modeling of our regions for material legends takes a certain amount of time that could be used more productively. Using our Material Legend tool you can generate a legend of all materials at the same time in just a few steps.
Align Text – See in Action – Aligns text on different sides and in different points. You have to select one TEXT NOTE or LABEL and one DETAIL or MODEL LINE. The Align Text tool is used for aligning text according to selected elements. The tools are useful when editing your annotation tags, this way you can be sure everything is aligned properly.

Renumber by Room – See in Action – Tool to mark instances (Door, Window, Furniture, …) based on room number and sequential character (letter or number).
Renumber Mark Parameter – See in Action – Tool to update mark parameter for instances according to chosen settings in the order the instances are picked in the model.
Renumber Room, Space or Area – See in Action – Tool to update number parameter for room, space or area according to chosen settings in the order the instances are picked in the model.
Renumber Grids – See in Action – Tool to update number parameter for grids according to chosen settings in the order the instances are picked in the model.

This tool set includes tools for creating floors based on selected rooms and tools for easier grid name editing.
Rooms to Floor – See in Action – One of the most useful tools is Room to Floor which enables the users to automatically generate a floor of a selected type within the selected Room. This command can also join several connecting Floors if multiple Rooms are chosen, or take a door swing into account when generating the shape of the Floor.
Edit Grid Name – Edit Grid Name tool allows users to quickly edit the names of their grids. Edit Grid Name tool indicates the direction of the grids, as well as information about the position of the grids (x, y).
Draw Bounding Box – Draw Bounding Box draws a rectangle around selected elements in an active view. The bounding lines are adaptable and can be changed if necessary. This tool saves time because users can simply select elements and in just one step it is already bounded.
Multi Join – See in Action – Multi-Join tool automates Revit’s Join Geometry tool by allowing users to join selected categories.
Create Assembly – Automatically create assemblies from selected instances (Structural Column, Structural Foundation, Structural Framing, Furniture, Generic Model, Curtain Panel, Wall or Wall Part).
This tool set includes view manipulation tools like setting a cropped region based on selected elements, resizing a section box for 3D views according to different settings, and a tool for automatic creation of assembly views.
Sheet/View Manager – See in Action – Shows a form where you can edit Sheet and View name and other properties. When editing sheets, it is possible to duplicate the sheet and select viewports for new sheet.
Resize Section Box – See in Action – Dialog to resize MIN and MAX dimensions of Section Box. Can also size Section Box based on Room or Space along with Floor location or Existing View.
Category Toggle On or Off – The Category Toggle tool enables the user to switch ON and OFF any category in a project (Architecture, Mechanical, Annotation…). A dialogue box offers the ability to select the category then choose to display or hide it in various views. With Category Toggle there is no need to use the Visibility/Graphics dialogue box.
Crop Region: 2D View, From Selection, Match, Camera View – Define Crop Region size according to project units. Defines Crop Region at a specified offset from selected elements. Matches Crop Region size and position according to selected view. Modify aspect ratio on crop Region for selected camera view.
Align Viewport on Sheet – Aligns selected viewports on sheet.
Room Views – Creates new views based on selected rooms and properties.
This tool set includes advanced selection tools where you can select elements based on different criteria (e.g. Levels, Categories, Phases)
Select By – See in Action – Users can select one or more Instances in the model and the tool will automatically select all Instances with same Category or Type. The tool displays a popup dialog box allowing you to select instances in the whole Project or just in the active View. There are also options to select by Bounding Box, Host, Hosted, and Workset
Filter Tool – See in Action – The Selection Filter tool displays a tree of elements in a project, grouped according to the users selection (e.g. by Category). It enables efficient control over the selection of certain elements. This tool enables the users to filter elements either from the selection, whole model or active view. When selecting Instances based on Properties the properties are now grouped by Instance and Type
